NRHS Literacy Initative October 28, 2007
The Nipigon Red Rock District High School has received a $2500 grant from the TransCanada Pipelines Community Investment Fund which it applied for in the spring 2007. The grant entitled, the Nipigon-Red Rock DHS Student Literacy Initiative is being used to buy resource materials for the school library.
Susan McConnell, a parent with two children attending NRHS and who is also the liaison with the TransCanada Pipelines presented the cheque to Principal Linda Browning-Morrow early in the school year.
TransCanada Pipelines, with headquarters in western Canada is a prolific supporter of education. It encourages students to learn in positive, healthy environments and facilitates learning through the support of literacy programs, stay-in-school initiatives and post-secondary institutions.
Superior-Greenstone DSB wishes to acknowledge the good work of TransCanada Pipelines, the assistance of Ms. McConnell, the school’s liaison with the group and NRHS staff who applied for this grant.
