Parent Engagement Presentation Series

The Parent Engagement Series, presented by the Parent Engagement Committee, offers families meaningful opportunities to learn, connect, and engage around topics that matter most to parents and caregivers. Through a variety of sessions and shared resources, the series supports families in navigating key areas of student learning, wellbeing, and school life. This initiative is part of the Superior-Greenstone District School Board's ongoing commitment to strengthening parent engagement, fostering positive school–home partnerships, and ensuring families have access to timely, relevant information and supports that contribute to student success and belonging

June 2, 2026:  Cell Phones:  What's Healthy, What's Not, and What we can do to support our kids, by Hanna Beach

The upcoming Parent Engagement Presentation with Hannah Beach will explore Cellphones: What's Healthy, What's Not, and What We Can Do to Support Our Kids. In a warm and conversational session, Hannah will address the growing concerns many families are experiencing—children feeling anxious, constantly connected to their phones, and increasingly isolated or disengaged. While technology itself is not the problem and offers many benefits, the presence of devices that travel with children has significantly changed childhood and adolescence, impacting learning, relationships, and emotional wellbeing. This presentation will offer practical, realistic strategies families and schools can use to make small changes that lead to meaningful impact, helping children and youth develop healthy relationships with technology and supporting them to grow, learn, and thrive.

Date: Tuesday, October 28, 2025
Time: 6:30 p.m. (via videoconference)

We are pleased to invite parents, caregivers, guardians, staff, and community members to a special presentation by Erin Moir, Co-Executive Director of EcoSuperior.

We are mission-driven on building a healthy future for people and the planet. Since 1995, we have been committed to inspiring and empowering change by offering meaningful programs and services, with support from our funders, partners, and the community.

We hear “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle” more than we can count — but what does it really mean for our communities? How can we reduce waste before we even need to recycle it? And why is this so important?

Join Erin for an engaging presentation and Q&A session focused on practical waste reduction initiatives and how small actions can lead to big impact.
