SGDSB Statement on Tumbler Ridge, BC Tragedy

In the wake of the tragic events at Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia, the Superior-Greenstone District School Board mourns alongside the education community. Our hearts are with the families, students, staff, and loved ones who have been impacted by this profound loss.  We extend our sincere condolences during this incredibly difficult time.

We recognize that incidents of this nature can have a significant emotional impact on staff, children, youth, and families.  As a school board, we remain deeply committed to Mental Health and Wellbeing and to ensuring that students feel safe, supported, and connected.

Mental health and Wellbeing are a shared responsibility across our system. Students are encouraged to reach out to trusted adults at school, and families are reminded that supports are available should their child need additional assistance.

Families are encouraged to reach out if their child requires additional assistance. We continue to work together as caring school communities to support one another during this difficult time.
